Tech & Education

There is an upwelling of educational tech startups…

Some say Khan started it (not the Ghengis one… the Sal one) but really it started well before Kahn.

Actually it probably started on chunks of stone way back in the days of the Cave people. They painted on walls and for the first time were able to create a story that was not just passed down by parents to children around a campfire. There was an ongoing documented history.

The Egyptians were truly advanced and were able to map out histories and beliefs using new literature technologies. Reproducible symbols that could be easily interpreted leaving less chance of embellishment and allowing for accuracy previously unknown. The next really huge advance – in a way came with the advent of paper… Thanks China, followed not so much later (in the grand scheme of things) by the printing press… Literature for the masses. To be literate was power. And of course that meant education took on new meaning in the modern world.

In modern times there was the PC… Thanks Gatesy and Jobsy!
And most recently and probably most importantly the internet.

The options are now endless for the dissemination of thoughts and dialogue. We are yet to see the most amazing advances in education and technology but it is probably one of the most exciting times the world has ever known.
